Mariah ties the knot
Mariah Carey is reported to have wed rapper Nick Cannon in a ceremony in the Bahamas. Apparently the pair has been dating for several weeks. Cannon, who is 11 years younger than Carey, is said to have designed a $2.5 million ring for his bride. A relative told people.com that he "called and told us all about it" apparently confirming the surprise nuptials did take place. No doubt, the beginning of a long and meaningful relationship.
Cyrus Circus
15-year-old teen star Miley Cyrus has been at the centre of a storm of controversy over photographs shot for Vanity Fair magazine. The Disney star, and idol for young girls, has been criticised for the provocative shots in which she appears to be semi-naked, draped with a sheet. Disney was unhappy, claiming that the young woman was manipulated in order to sell magazines. The Cyrus family issued a statement saying Miley was embarrassed by the pictures. Many celebrities have come out in support of Cyrus, including Tyra Banks and Rosie O’Donnell. Britney and Jamie-Lynn Spears have also offered their support, although hopefully she doesn’t take too many notes from their book.
