Liberate Yourself
It was love at first sight when I laid eyes on the new Euro looking Hyundai i30. It’s sleek exterior curves and compact size were guaranteed to make me look stylish on the road. So I ditched my lumpy four wheel drive for a week and took the cool i30 on as my own.
It is a delight for the senses the moment you slip into the drivers seat. The i30’s design focuses on the little things – it has over 20 dedicated storage compartments for everything from your Gucci sunglasses, to places for your car park security passes, to handy cup holders for your icey frappaccino, to (my favourite) a place for your lip gloss and phone.
Air conditioning flows through the glove box to conveniently keep drinks and snacks chilled on those long summer drives, oh and I also threw my eyeliner in there - it doesn’t melt, so no more runny eyeliner touch ups! So intuitive is the i30 design, there is even keyless entry with alarm for when you have your hands full with grocery bags, plus heated door mirrors.
The i30 also rocks to your latest iPod tunes with it’s very own iPod dock, so you can play and manage your favourite music via radio controls on the dash and steering wheel controls. Other great fingertip functionalities include a USB and AUX input compatibility and accessories such as a Bluetooth portable hands free.
The new Hyundai i30 made me look like a parking genius (I paralleled like a pro) and it was incredibly zippy around the city streets. It also boasts Hyundai’s first turbo-Diesel engine too, which produces astounding fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions. I drove from Sydney city to the Blue Mountains, back to Sydney city and then drove to work everyday (inner west to city) – and wonder have it – only half a tank of fuel had been burnt. Anything that helps keep me away from the petrol station for longer works for me!
I had a ball in the Hyundai i30. I felt liberated from my old clunky four-wheel drive and pampered by the European design features.
Prices for the Hyundai i30 start at a reasonable $18,990.
